Well I was on a float for gay pride this weekend singing my single "How Would You Feel!" The rain was pretty fierce so me and a dragqueen named Ericka huddled under our rainbow for cover, considering we both had beat faces and fabulous dresses on lol. It was my first float and I had a blast!

For once I had a really action-packed weekend, probably the most action-packed
weekend I've had since I've become a mom except for when we leave the child with
the grandparents to go out of town. ANYWAY Thursday I went with the hubby to see
Devo in McCarren Park which is the first show I've seen there. The Tom Tom Club
opened which was pretty cool because I have only seen them once before. It
didn't beat the show a few years ago in Central Park but it was good and full of
a nice mix of olds & youngs and surprisingly empty. I'm thinking I'm going to
hit some of those Jelly NYC pool party shows over the summer as well.
After we had some drinks with a friend of mine and I was very hungover the next
day. Consequently we stayed in Friday night and watched La Vie En Rose. Damn
that girl really deserved the Oscar. It was amazing it didn't even seem like the
same person, especially since i had only seen her looking dishy on the red
carpet.
It was a very disjointed movie but her performance was great and now I know all
kinds of stuff about Edith Piaf.
Saturday we couldn't get our shit together (running late, got lost, etc) but we
went out to Long Beach to see a friend who has a beach cottage there and meet
his new baby. Unfortunately by the time we got there it was kind of rainy but i
wasn't exactly dying to put my butt in a bikini so I was fine with that. We
never even touched down on the beach, we just stayed in and had a kind of weird
vegetarian meal and got pretty drunk just hanging out with my friend, his sister
and her friends. We spent a good portion of the evening watching my kid freak
out to this album my husband just produced. He was jumping up and down and
moonwalking and everything, he loves that rock and roll. We didn't get home until
like 2:30 am which is pretty late when you're dragging the kid home at that
hour.
SO Sunday I was invited to a screening of the Joy Division documentary. I've
known one of the guys from New Order since the 80s and he was speaking then
DJing the party after. It was at the New Museum where i had not been before but
the general consensus is the art sucks there so I didn't check it out. We had
some time to kill so we went to Cafe Habana and had a couple of bloody marys and
a ridiculously quick meal because the service is so pokey then saw the film. It
was really well done particularly if you are a Joy Division fan but I'm moving
Control down on the Netflix list because I don't think I can handle seeing the
same story twice.
The Q&A was very funny and it was really nice to see my old friend even though I
didn't get to spend too much time with him. They had an after party in Nolita at
The Randolph which I guess is a hotel but it was a really weird set up...no
speakers in the front of the tiny bar, a bunch of cold burgers and salad with no
forks set up in front of the DJ booth.. weird! It was fun just hanging out
though and the cocktails were free. We stayed til about 11:30-midnight then had
to go home to relieve the sitter but all in all it was a very eventful weekend
for me.

Jim bought a bright red 2007 Saturn Sky roadster with 7,000 miles on it. WOW! We traded my 2004 Corolla as part of the deal, and Jim gave me his 2006 Subaru. He is one "old" happy camper. The car is really cool.

Worked on clearing my townhouse out to get it ready for sale, my neck had been seriously bothering me for a week, so as one could imagine a weekend of moving furniture resulted in my next and shoulder muscles feeling like they've been shredded a week full of mind numbing pain so far...
I seriously hope your weekend was more fun than mine.
